At Cuttsy+Cuttsy, we believe in ongoing and fulfilling training opportunities for everyone, whatever their role. Cuttsy College is our way of ensuring we have a solid, professional development framework, whether you’re just starting out in healthcare communications, or further down your career path at a senior level. We want to help you continue to grow and enjoy a rewarding and satisfying career.
But first, we must find you! We want talented people at all career stages. For first job seekers, we advertise on university job boards such as Handshake and UCL Careers group, talk with university careers departments, as well as attending university job fairs.
For those more established in their careers, we take part in recruitment fairs held by groups such as the PM Society and HCA (Healthcare Communications Association), along with broader industry fairs such as New Designers and D&AD New Blood.
You’ll find available roles on our social channels as well as here. We also use recruitment agencies as well as offering finders’ fees to our team who recommend candidates we successfully recruit. This means we gain great new people and the team benefit financially from sharing their network. So, if you don’t already, get to know some of the current Cuttsy team!
And one other thing – we don’t believe in unpaid internships. We’re a company ‘where people matter’ and think everyone should be valued by receiving competitive financial reward.
As part of a thorough induction process, you’ll meet the team and learn about us and how we work. There’ll be formal monthly catch ups with your manager (‘Be Proud’ meetings) to set tailored goals and monitor your progress. But it’s more than a review; it’s an opportunity to celebrate successes, however big or small. It’s also the chance to discuss your training and development needs and create a plan to make them happen.
When appropriate, you’ll be partnered with another team member and shadow them during your first few months. There’s also a voluntary buddy scheme to support you with less ‘work’ related questions and be there to catch-up and check-in with.
As you’d expect, there’s mandatory training such as IT, general administration, as well as industry compliance. But also, everyone is assigned a training budget. Together, we’ll assess your needs to make sure we match your required skillsets with training requirements which could range from formal courses or webinars, to ‘on the job training’ or accessing a funded formal qualification.
We’ll map out key milestones and gain regular feedback from stakeholders and colleagues as to how you’re doing, whether through informal conversations, 360-feedback, or a review of your Be Proud meetings.
In addition to ongoing training, you could embark on a Personal Development Plan (PDP) towards a specific goal, such as a promotion. A PDP could last anywhere from 6 to 18 months, depending on what you want to achieve.
Starting with a personal analysis to help you set goals, your PDP is reviewed regularly to measure success and next steps.
We believe in ongoing learning for everyone. That’s why Cuttsy+Cuttsy continues to invest in professional development regardless of role or seniority, from graduate to director.
Cuttsy College now formalises a framework to protect the company’s investment in the future, that of our industry and, importantly, your career.
