World Purple Day
March 26, 2019
Purple Day is held on March 26th annually to increase awareness of epilepsy worldwide.
Epilepsy is a condition that affects the brain. Due to a sudden burst of intense electricity in the brain, people with epilepsy tend to have epileptic seizures.
Most people with epilepsy find their symptoms can be controlled through medication and are able to lead normal lives. However, for those who can’t, seizures can cause injury to the brain. This can lead to the possibility of developing learning and mobility difficulties in the future.
Our infographic highlights some of the statistics around epilepsy. Please do share to help raise awareness.
